I was born and raised in Albuquerque and graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a double major in philosophy and American studies. Upon graduation, I went on to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. During my last year of law school, I was an extern at the New Mexico Supreme Court in the chamber of Justice David K. Thomson. During my time at the New Mexico Supreme Court, I developed invaluable relationships and acquired a unique understanding of the role of the judiciary in New Mexico.
After receiving my Juris Doctor degree, I served as a judicial law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court in the chamber of Justice Maria E. Berkenkotter. As a judicial law clerk, I assisted the Court in preparation of its opinions and provided recommendations to the Justices as to whether to grant or deny certiorari. At the conclusion of my clerkship, I returned to my home state of New Mexico and gained experience representing medical professionals and hospitals in medical malpractice actions. I also represented consumers in international antitrust class action disputes and litigated various complex civil litigation disputes.
