Background:
Matthew was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his undergraduate degree in 2000 from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He also earned a Masters of Science degree in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico where he graduated summa cum laude and spent a semester as an intern with the University of New Mexico Lobo Men’s Basketball team. Prior to entering law school, he worked with at-risk youth as a high school special education teacher and basketball coach in both Utah and New Mexico. In law school, Matthew received a well rounded education in many different areas of the law including estate planning and intellectual property. In 2009, Matthew participated in the 2009 Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition where he advanced to the second round of the western regional. Matthew loves sports, cars, traveling and most importantly spending time with his wife and their two children.
