Background:
Mr. Martinez served in the United States Army on active duty for four years in the Judge Advocate General's Corp. where he practiced as a defense attorney, prosecuting attorney, and legal assistance attorney. He now limits his practice primarily to workers' compensation litigation and trials, although he also handles clergy abuse defense cases, personal injuries and trucking cases. Mr. Martinez has tried over 100 cases in both his military and civilian career. He was listed in Southwest Super Lawyers in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He has been listed in "Best Lawyers in America" for ten consecutive years.

Mr. Martinez has served as an instructor at the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions College, teaching evidence and trial practice to workers' compensation judges and administrators throughout the United States.

He was also named President of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Albuquerque and the New Mexico Workers' Compensation Association. He is Vice President of Scoutreach for Great Southwest Council Boy Scouts of America, member of the Ranch Committee of Philmont Scout Ranch, member of Multicultural Marketing Task Force of Boy Scouts of America and an Eagle Scout. Carlos is a frequent lecturer at seminars in the field of Workers' Compensation and occupational disease disability topics.
